Ernie Gianotti passed away on September 11 on the Mainland. He was our Association Attorney for many years and served the Palisades Board and Community with his knowledge of the law. He kept us straight and will be missed.

KONA PALISADES ESTATES PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

We NEED your HELP!!!!!!!

Even though we cannot have a General Membership Meeting at this time because of COVID-19, we can still proceed with the Update of our 1968 Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs). A lot of things have changed since 1968!

You were sent a “Written Consent” form last February in the General Membership Meeting packet for your use in voting on CC&R Updates. If you need a Written Consent form, one is attached to this message. We need 585 yes votes to pass each update.

There are 6 proposed updates for your consideration. Simply put, #1, #2, and #3 are to help clean up the Neighborhood, #4 will allow homeowners to put upscale Metal Roofs on their homes. #5 will prohibit Short Term Rentals of less than 30 days in length, and #6 will make it easier to Update our CC&Rs in the future. PLEASE VOTE Yes or No on each proposed update.

PLEASE NOTE that we will be following all CDC and County Requirements: Masks and Social Distancing required.

Palisades, a great place to live!

New Managers

The Board had already contracted with Associa Hawaii to be the Property Management Firm. Karin Villaverde will be the Community Manager. Associa Hawaii has played a key role in helping to uncover failures in the past to follow correct legal procedures and properly record actions of the Association. They were also very helpful in getting information out about the Annual meeting that had to be reconvened twice. We will have a whole team working for the Association instead of just one. It should make things go a lot smoother in the future.

President Fine encouraged the owners by saying "This is not the end of the process but it is the beginning. We want to make changes. You have wanted changes. This is the beginning of making changes to make Palisades a better place to live."

He also called for volunteers who want to help in the change process. We need the everyone involved in helping to improve Palisades.
